Ibanez RG570X Review
Price Bought£400 |
Sound QualityThis guitar has two humbucking pickups (V7 and V8) in the neck and bridge position and a single coil (S1) in the middle position. It has a very rich and warm sound that works well with or without distortion. 8 out of 10 |
Build QualityVery good - although the 5-way selector switch was loose at first. A very minor glitch which was easily fixed by tightening up the screws. 9 out of 10 |
Defects Upon PurchaseNone except for a few small dents which it got from being at the shop - apparently this was one of the reasons for the reduction in price... |
Additional CommentsThis particular guitar has one volume and one tone knob, Floyd Rose patented tremolo system (locking nut etc...). It also has a really thin 24 fret neck ("Wizard" necks) which feels good when playing. Looks wise it has mother of pearl down the side of the neck and mirror inlays which I think add a very nice touch. However I think this model has been discontinued for the new model, the RG2570 Prestige (I think that was the name for it). This new model has DiMarzio pickups instead of the ones provided by Ibanez and also has a new paint job (which I'm not very fond of...) |

Sound QualityNice sound, pickups could use upgrading though. The stock ones aren't "hot" enough so I put in a DiMarzio Tone Zones. 9 out of 10 |
Build QualityReally nice feel, All access neck joint for upper frets. Nice slim neck for fast playing. 9.5 out of 10 |
Defects Upon PurchaseNope, Nothing wrong with it besides the action being a little high for my taste but that can be easily adjusted. |
Additional CommentsReally great guitar to bad its discontinued, the Rg1570 is almost the same thing though. It just has the "Prestige" neck. |
