Ibanez RG1570 Review
Price Bought£500 |
Sound QualityThis guitar came with Ibanez v7 and v8 humbucker pickups with a centre single coil. The single coil doesn't have a lot of point in my opinion. I didn't like these pickups as they sounded too 'processed' and they didn't have enough balls for my personal tastes. Apart from the pickups (which admittedly are the most important part in terms of sound quality) there's no complaints here at all. For a Floyd type guitar the sustain is superb. 7 out of 10 |
Build QualityExcellent as you'd expect from a guitar with the 'prestige' label. Everything seems nicely finished off and there's clearly a lot of thought gone into the design. 9 out of 10 |
Defects Upon PurchaseNope - nothing at all. |
Additional CommentsStick in some emg actives and this guitar screams!! I tried every possible contender I could find in Edinburgh and this for me was easily the best lead guitar in this price range. In fact it plays better than guitars twice its price. This guitar is really inspiring and my playing has improved 10 times over since getting this guitar. It obviously wont have the same tonal qualities as a les paul but its about as good as your gonna get with a Floyd style bridge. It is also by far the best Floyd I have tried, and it doesn't fall apart too!! :-D |
