Gibson Double Cut Les Paul Review

[ Back to Guitar Reviews ]

Price Bought

£1000 with a free Gibson hard case (it should have been a bit more but they made a mistake in the advert)

Sound Quality

This thing is a beauty it can go from pounding metal and beautiful silky lead sounds to crisp clean jazz voicings with no trouble at all. It's my favourite guitar out of the 7 I own because it is so versatile and plays beautifully.

Build Quality

The build quality on this is near perfect (I've never seen a perfect guitar!). The neck is smooth to play and the finish is stunning I can't fault it really.

Defects Upon Purchase

Only if you call the strings being out of tune and the action needing lowering a defect.

Additional Comments

This is an amazing guitar - I've played on guitars that cost twice as much and they haven't inspired me to play nearly as much as this guitar. Also due to the shape of the guitar its lighter than an normal Les Paul so long gigs won't hurt your back, the neck is also slimmer than usual making playing quickly a breeze.
