Sound Quality

The sound is awesome. The single coils have a bright sound and also a rich sound too.... it can handle anything from Blues to Country to Metal... its insane! My only beef with them is that them has a slight hum... even with a noise suppressor it's still noticeable. I'm going to upgrade the bridge with a DiMarzio Tone Zone.

Perfect.....It's professionally hand made... exactly what you would expect from Fender.

Defects Upon Purchase

None... the strings where fender but I changed them and set the guitar up to my specs.

Additional Comments

If you are looking for a guitar without a locking tremolo but stays in tune with whammy bar use the strat is one too look in to... It can handle any type of music. The only thing is if you are using a heavy distortion you might want to get rid of the single coils and replace them with humbuckers.... It all depends on your taste. I highly recommend the American Strat to any guitar player except beginners.... this is too much of a high quality instrument to be used to learn... get a squire or Mexican strat if you are just starting out
