Music Theory on Scales
A scale is a collection of notes within an octave. Many different types of octaves exist, each of which follow a specific pattern. Below we shall discuss 2 common scales, the major scale and the minor scale.

Music Theory on Chords
The phrase "Chord" refers to when 2 or more different notes sound at the same time. All chords are built upon a particular note, which is referred to as the "Root Note". As with scales, chords follow a set of rules that determine exactly how each chord type is formed, which are discussed in the following lessons.
