Chosen by Guitar Player Magazine as one of the all-time top 50 effects ever! We are the first to offer a switchable "Boost" Channel in an overdrive and manufacture our own Super-Duty 3PDT footswitch allowing True-Bypass plus LED.
"Vintage" for those old mid-heavy, thick mid-'90's FD2 tones that the Ebayers pay so much for.
"FM" stands for "flat-mids" offering a more natural sound but I've enhanced this mode for even more transparency, it sounds great on a strat's Neck Pickup, truly spectacular! .
"CompCut" feature has been relocated from the volume Pot to the 3-way mini-toggle switch so you won't accidentally kick it while on stage
Housed in a beautiful powder coated Blue 16ga.steel enclosure, the first channel is the "Overdrive Mode" capable of Clean Boost or non-compressed overdrive or choose light to medium softer Overdrives all while retaining your guitar's original tone. The Tone knob is a very effective Presence control that can smooth out or add upper harmonics.. There's also a footswitchable second channel "Boost Mode" with its own separate Distortion control for medium to higher gains with a more singing violin-like sustain!
This pedal gets its natural sound through the use of Asymmetrical Clipping and "Feedback Loop" circuit... a way of creating distortion high in even ordered harmonics like a Class A tube amp! True Bypass w/ LED is standard equipment.
New for the Full-Drive 2 MOSFET:
* choice between MOSFET and Normal clipping modes
* "normal mode" is even more asymmetrical, sweeter, more open, no "blanket" over the sound.
* moved the LED's, borrowed the OCD's super bright LED's with (Fulltone's exclusive) "no thump/No pop" True Bypass.
* a beautiful sparkle Blue Metallic powder-coat finish for the final version of the most popular boutique OD ever made.

Customer Rating: Summary: Very Responsive and Amp-Like Comment: This pedal is built like the proverbial tank and can produce a very wide range of distortion sounds short of heavy metal. It also has a very effective boost switch for lead tones. Clean (of unintended audio artifacts, that is) and dead quiet, too.
Though nominally a 9-volt pedal, one trick mentioned on Fulltone's site that actually works very well with this pedal is to feed it 18 volts, making it even more responsive. I wired a custom power cable in about 10 minutes which takes two 9-volt batteries.
The pedal is no pot-metal wonder or aluminum lightweight. It's a heavy-gauge steel box with equally heavy-duty components, i.e., it's built for continuous pro use, and every part screams quality. Fulltone's true bypass switches are now in widespread use among other pedal makers as well. Regardless of where you stand on true bypass vs. buffers, if your pedal has true bypass switching - as does this one - you want it to be good, and Fulltone's is the best on the market.
Feed with batteries or Fulltone's own regulated external power supply. Regulation is a real plus for consistency and predictability of sound. Watch out for the polarization of the external power supply if you don't use Fulltone's. You will blow the pedal and void the warranty if you plug in with reversed polarity. See www.fulltone.com for audio samples as well as information on the power supply (which isn't on Amazon for some reason).
