Recalls the classic instruments of the 1930s Pearloid peghead veneer Rolled-in F-holes Grey polychrome enamel finish Spun 9-1/2" biscuit cone with spiral ridges for strength, volume, and tone
This metal-body resonator recalls the classic instruments of the 1930s with its pearloid peghead veneer, rolled-in F-holes, grey polychrome enamel finish, and spun 9-1/2" biscuit cone with spiral ridges for strength, volume, and tone. Slim neck with adjustable truss rod, rosewood fingerboard, and die-cast 15:1-ratio sealed tuning machines. The original was a bargain in the '30s, and the new Deco Duolian continues that tradition.

Customer Rating: Summary: Exceptional Value - One Real Fine Blues Machine Comment: I've had this guitar for about two weeks now and it has exceeded my expectations in every way -
The sound is loud and punchy (perfect for Delta Blues) but properly balanced across the strings and the fretboard. I've played other "mid-priced" resonators that seem to have dead-spots but the RC-1 performs admirably across the spectrum. It plays and sounds great in standard, drop D and open D tunings.
As shipped, the action was properly set - the thin round neck was extremely playable either for standard picking or slide.
Relative to construction and general appearance - the instrument was flawless - the metallic finish looks as ageless as the music it is meant to produce.
No question in terms of overall sound the National Resonator beats out the Regal RC-1 - and I'm not the biggest fan of the white headstock with the green logo on the RC-1 - BUT, the RC-1 AT LESS THAN HALF THE COST of a comparable National Resonator - is an extraordinarily good value that more than meets my needs as a mid-level player.
