Customer Rating: Summary: Great Tone - Long Life Comment: I received a free sample of these strings in 1997. I didn't believe the hype, so I was reluctant to put them on. I was playing my acoustic one day and I broke the high E string, so I decided to try out the pack of Elixirs. As I was tuning up, I noticed they sounded bright and clear, without a lot of string noise. All new strings sound good when you first change them, but my guitar never had sounded that great to me. Even the low strings seemed to have a more presence without buzzing. They also lasted a lot longer than other brands I'd used. A thin plastic coating helps prevent them from corroding from finger oil. Everything that's printed on the package is true.
