Customer Rating: Summary: product as described! Comment: This is a great music stand. You could adjust the height from a sitting position to stand up position. So, it works well for any musician, even for very young student. It is sturdy and you could easily write, make notes on the music, or keep your metronom on this stand. Also, it will hold thick music books. If you need a stand to travel, you need to get a portable one. For your everyday practice at home, get one of this!
Customer Rating: Summary: Useful and Affordable Comment: This music stand holds heavy music books without much trouble. For those looking for something portable, this is not it. This is great for a more permanent use.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Stand for the money Comment: I had been shopping local music stores for music stands for my home, and I ultimatly was turned off by the price disparity between store and online prices. I was initially nervous about buying the Manhasset music stand becase similarly priced stands in the stores were made of light, flimsy metal that seemed cheap to the touch.
I was delighted when I received this music stand. The assembly was very easy. It comes in 3 pieces, and requires a pair of pliers and a screw driver to assemble. It took me about 3 minutes to get it all assembled once I had the tools in front of me.
The stand is a little lighter than I expected, weighing about 2-3 lbs. However, even though it is light, the top is sturdy and will not bend if you are trying write. The stand extends to about 60 inches at its maximum.
I strongly recommend this stand for home use.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Comment: I obviously love this product. I do use that every day without any problem.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great quality, durability, and ease of use Comment: This stand is used at two of the three schools I rehearse at, and is the one I purchased for my own use. It's solid but of reasonable weight, tolerates being throw in the trunk with a bunch of instruments and stands, and stays put, even when used at the full height. The lip is a sheet of aluminum, easy to get clips on and off. The powder-coated surface will eventually start to show scuffs and scratches, but no more than any other stand out there. And yes, the "clutch" will eventually give out, but it's cheap and easy to replace. This is far outweighed by the convenience of being able to adjust the stand height without unscrewing something. Barring this infrequent (hasn't happened in three years of weekly use) repair, it will last forever.
