Customer Rating: Summary: Easy way to improve your tone Comment: I love these strings- they really helped me achieve a fuller, more resonant tone when I put them on! I cannot think of a better way to improve your sound for the price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good strings for a great price! Comment: The strings are great! All Ernie Ball strings are great and I do use pretty much all they have in stock depending on the genre of music I am playing or the sound I am looking for.
As for the person stating they oxidize quickly, well I don't think they do any more so then any other set of strings. If you clean them, and clean them right then you will have no issue. As well as keep them oiled. Besides, a true musician doesn't use strings for more then one show and these are cheap enough to where you can use a new set for each show. As for others who I have heard who say new string loose tuning quickly and need to be worked in, well they just don't know how to properly string a guitar.
Ernie Ball strings are good strings for a great price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Use em all the time... Comment: They're cheap... And they sound good. I'd prefer these strings just for the price. Sounds good for all sorts of styles. Rock, metal, jazz. Sounds great to me. =)
Customer Rating: Summary: Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky's Performance vrs Value Comment: I bought a three-pack set of Ernie Ball 2220 Power Slinky Nickel Round Wound Electric Guitar Strings expecting they would last through a couple of shows thus being a good value for the money. Unfortunately these strings oxidize rapidly losing tone and response. All in all a medium string for the money. Although they are not as durable as other brands of similar quality they have one saving grace in that they can be used on both acoustic or electric guitars.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent strings Comment: The purple ones. Strings break and there are reasons for that if you look at how you set up your guitar. Did you stretch the strings? Is the action set up well? Did you take your time to string the guitar the right way? If you use some guitar common sense and ask a pro what you need to know, then these strings will work for you. Excellent tone, feel great, and have great sustain. If you cannot find these strings, then the super slinkys are a good second choice.
