Summary: A clear demonstration worth a thousand words
Comment: As a novice adult cello player, I struggled for months with an ill-formed bow hold and consequent pain. Gerhard Mantel's dense and maticulously formulated advice and Victor Sazer's New Directions in Cello Playing provided me with useful corrections. It was only after viewing Maestro:Cello that I was able to make the adjustment that solved my problem. Doug Bruestle, with the assuring manner of a good scout master, clearly guides his pupils through the basics. I may never watch the video a second time, but gained exactly what I needed from Bruestle's clear demonstrations to move forward in my playing.
