Summary: Good starter book.
Comment: I got this for my 10 year old daughter when she got her guitar. Her instructor uses it as a supplement to other lessons. She likes it because it is pretty simple, doesn't get too heavy into music theory, but the songs sound pretty good. It does not include a lot of instruction so if you are looking for it as your only source of guitar instruction you will be disappointed, but as a help I think it is fine.

Summary: Good starter book for guitar lessons
Comment: My 11 year old daughter got a guitar for Christmas and was recommended this book by her music teacher. She's taken to the instrument and this book has been good at explaining certain techniques and explaining what is important to take from each lesson.
All in all its a good starter book that seems to progress nicely along as the student learns - giving background on female musicians and how they got into playing guitars.

A female instructor and a pink guitar is about as girl as it gets....
Very confusing instruction. Needs a book to follow along, but it's like- hear this music and play it... What???? the dvd case said there was printable supplements on the web site--- NOT
I did not like it and felt it was a waste of money and time--- and I am taking time out of my life to let you know...
The free lesson that came with a cheap guitar was better!!!!!
