Customer Rating: Summary: Start With This Book Comment: An excellent and probably essential book for getting started with Logic 8, it effectively and efficiently steps the user through the application's interfaces, tools and working methods, and has good tutorial materials and lessons, including scoring to video. It is not comprehensive, however, and only briefly touches on the powerful soft synth and processing tools in Logic 8. That would require a whole other volume. If you are getting started with Logic as a DAW, or upgrading from Logic 7, get this book.
Customer Rating: Summary: awesome Comment: there is no better way to learn this software short of a class that costs hundreds of dollars
Customer Rating: Summary: Very thorough! Comment: I thought this product was very thorough. It walks you through the steps in a fashion that allows you to try each lesson. I really got a lot out of this.
Customer Rating: Summary: Logic Express 8 Comment: This book is perfect for anyone interested in learning the ropes of Logic Express 8.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Good - You need this book to use Logic fully Comment: I have been messing with computer recording for a few years now and just got a Mac and Logic. I used Cakewalk programs and FL Studio prior to getting Logic, but when I tried to use Logic without the book I was pretty lost. The book takes you through the steps to use all the main features of Logic and also explains basic recording techniques that I was not familiar with, but are the difference between an amatuer recording and a pro version. The section on mixing was very helpful and especially useful with songs on the DVD. I learned a lot. I only wish that along with the DVD came video showing you how to use the program. Reading each step and following along with the program takes a while, but really its the only way to learn since you have to push the buttons to hear what happens.
